Sessions

Here at BFF we love sessions; where people gather together and share their tunes and songs. Often this will happen naturally but sometimes it helps if someone can facilitate the process. So we have some organised sessions in the programme with session leaders and venues booked out. As with all sessions please be mindful of others as a session is a collaborative beast which feeds on a shared knowledge and understanding and is not a performance space.

Bob and Paul - The Flying Sessioneers will be often be found in The Green Dragon where they will welcome anyone inclined towards English tunes and songs. They are also leading the Slow Session in St Mary’s Church on Sunday morning from 10.00 - 11.00am.

Sunday 7th Sept: Slow Tunes with Bob and Paul in St Marys Church 11-12pm then Chris Holderness hosts a

Norfolk Tune Up Session in the Three Tuns Cellar from 1-3pm

Appropriating the name used by a lot of the old boys to describe an evening of informal music-making, the “Tune-Up” events have been making their way around Norfolk across the months. Held together by the Unthank Irregulars band, these ‘dos’ are a kind of informal concert party in which people are encouraged to participate. Local music, songs and step dancing make up the programme, to celebrate the county’s traditional musical heritage, under the auspices of the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust. Expect a lively, acoustic show of bouncy tunes, songs serious and comic, and much step dancing, and do feel free to contribute!

Later in The Three Tuns Bar: 7.00pm onwards; A 'come all ye' singaround format with host Mel ensuring everyone gets a chance to sing, say or play. And that’s your lot for this year!
