Adam Clark

The Adam Clark Trio brings together three musicians from Norfolk’s vibrant folk scene in a joyful blend of traditional and original material. Rooted in the folk music of East Anglia and shaped by wide-ranging musical lives, their sound is rich in song, story and instrumental interplay.
Led by guitarist, banjo and concertina player Adam Clark, the trio features fiddler and songwriter Alex Patterson (Alden & Patterson) and mandolinist Nic Zuppardi (Shackleton Trio). Between them they have toured widely across the UK and Europe, appearing at venues and festivals including Celtic Connections and Union Chapel, with music featured on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4.

Bellaires

Bellaires Handbell Ringers are a long established team. Soon to celebrate 30 years.
The team rings 3 octaves (37 bells) of American Malmark bells and 1 ½ octaves of handchimes. The eclectic music repertoire ranges from nursery-rhymes, through Rag-time and pop to Classical.
There are currently 9 ringers and meet weekly at Broome Village Hall. Team leader, Sue, also leads another team on a Friday evening at Carlton Colville church and co-ordinates the East Anglian Regional Team.
The team is registered with the Handbell Ringers of Great Britain (HRGB): The national society for handbell ringers. The team have performed at HRGB regional and national rallies.

Belles’ harmonies are both perfectly blended and transparent — you can hear every word and feel every meaning. Their set tends toward the melancholy and the meaningful: traditional and contemporary folk songs reimagined with careful arrangement and emotional honesty. Rooted in Norwich, Belles create performances that are intimate, thoughtful and quietly powerful.

The Bell Ringers

The festival will formally open with the ringing of a quarter peal in St Mary’s Church.
Bungay has a fine ring of 8 bells but does not have a resident band of ringers!
The church is cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) The ringers who will attempt a quarter peal to herald the start of the Bungay Folk Festival will be recruited from the surrounding area, both Norfolk and Suffolk. The band who usually ring on the second Monday of the month come from Wymondham, Norwich, Thurlton and Harleston, and one resident of Bungay.

Billy Took

Billy Took is a young man with a guitar who has taken East Anglia by storm. His passion for Country, Folk and Rock is evident in everything he does. At just 17 years of age, Billy writes his own music, is a self taught drummer, guitarist, and harmonica player. He is developing quite a following in the local area. As well as playing original songs, Billy covers a wide range of artists such as John Denver, Bruce Springsteen, Ed Sheeran, Don McLean and many more!

Briggs and Stark

Briggs & Stark are a rising Americana–folk duo whose buttery harmonies, intimate songwriting, and signature tickle of flute have quickly made them one of the UK’s most exciting new acts. Combining Briggs’ catchy americana hooks with Stark’s indie-folk storytelling, they create music that feels both contemporary and deeply relatable. Their debut EP Starting Something (2024) launched with a sold-out hometown show, while their reputation for connecting deeply with audiences has taken them to stages at Wickham, Weyfest, and The British Country Music Festival — where they were named “one of the most mentioned artists” of 2025. Suffolk singer-songwriter Charlie Law writes songs about camper vans, canal boats, loss and becoming a Dad. Charlie also writes songs with community groups in Suffolk. His ragtime influenced acoustic guitar playing was passed down to him from his Grandpa. For fans of Paolo Nutini, Bob Dylan and The Beatles.

As a singer/guitarist I have focused recently on performing my own settings of poems by my great-great-grandfather, Joseph Skipsey (1832-1903) - a Northumberland miner who taught himself to read and write and became a nationally respected poet. These songs – which I have recorded on a series of CDs entitled Carols from the Coalfields – offer a vivid picture of the life and times of the mining communities in the north-east.

Tom Robinson and Chris Difford are fans while Stick In The Wheel and The Unthanks look to him as an influence. In a world of soundbites and distractions Chris Wood is a truth seeker. His writing is permeated with love and wry intelligence, uplifting and challenging as he celebrates the sheer one-thing-after-anotherness of life. Winner of 6 BBC Folk Awards, he played with The Royal Shakespeare Company andwas a key member of The Imagined Village along with Billy Bragg, Martin and Eliza Carthy. A wise and soulful craftsman, his concerts are a cliche free zone.

Claireabella

With an eclectic mix of well known favourites and contemporary original songs exploring themes of human connection and the natural world. Claireabella has been performing since around 2013. Her relationship with the piano began in her childhood and they reconnected many years later, bringing in her voice and her wish to create music that speaks to something real and soulful.

Clare Bakewell

Clare began learning the piano and violin at the age of 7, taking up the harp a few years later. After studying privately with the Royal Northern College of Music Harp Tutor she continued her training at Aberystwyth University. Returning to Cumbria she played with various orchestras, as part of a flute and harp duo and performed a series of solo concerts across the North of England.She also released a CD of solo harp and songs called 'On the Road’. Her musical tastes span several genres including folk, jazz and South American. Clare will be joined by a local harp group The Suffolk Harp Companions which she co runs wih Claudia Myatt. Clare is also running two harp workshops during the day.

Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne is at the forefront of his generation of English folk musicians as both a powerful and commanding singer and a masterful player of the Anglo concertina and melodeon. Since bursting onto the scene in his teens, Cohen has amassed a string of awards and nominations, including a nomination for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Horizon Award in 2018, and has toured extensively across the UK and abroad.

Dan Parry

Dan Parry is a prolific instrumental musician who has been writing and performing
music all throughout his life despite enduring rare health issues. His debut solo EP
‘Paper Boats’ received airplay on radio stations like BBC Introducing since it’s
release in 2025. It’s a display of his love for folk fingerstyle guitar, the genre that
Dan’s solo music revolves around. With multiple releases scheduled throughout
2026, Dan is out and performing snippets of these releases as well as other originals
and covers.

Daria Kulesh Trio and James Mayhew

Daria has toured extensively in the UK and Europe, sharing stories and songs that are deeply personal but feel universal and timeless. Every performance is an “emotional, compelling and uplifting experience”, leaving the audiences “completely spellbound”. She has a special bond with local artist and illustrator James Mayhew - during the performance James will be creating visual responses to the music. He has kindly offered to auction the finished artwork to raise funds for the festival.
Born in Russia but based in the UK for the last 15 years, she fearlessly explores her heritage and turbulent family history in Ingushetia (North Caucasus) with songs that “aren’t just sung, but lived” (FATEA)

Detta Kenzie is an indie-folk singer and songwriter blending traditional Celtic influences with a modern, independent spirit. Her sound combines folk storytelling with soul, cinematic minimalism and leftfield pop, creating music that feels intimate, expansive and distinctly her own. Her writing explores themes of transformation, survival and renewal, shaped by a deep love of language developed during her years as a secondary English teacher.

Our ever-growing instrumental community will take you on a whirl-wind tour through the Arab world, the Caribbean, Denmark, Finland, France, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Ireland. Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne will join us for the first performances of two newly commissioned works: The Rain Falls and A Suffolk Jig Doll. The first is a set of variations based on a traditional Caribbean tune and the second a musical exploration of the diverse cultures that have influenced Suffolk culture, both past and present.

Jo and Anna create a sound that is full of energy, individuality and sensitivity, with Anna's driving rhythms and melodies and Jo's soaring improvisations. They are well known on the balfolk scene, having played together over many years at informal sessions and dance events. Anna also plays with the trio Oscina and has collaborated with Blowzabella’s Dave Shepherd, Nigel Eaton and Jo Freya, whilst Jo plays in ceilidh band Hekety, Fernleaf trio and with minimalistic improvisation group Emergence Collective.
As a duo, they apply their unique and very danceable style to a variety of popular and lesser-known tune repertoire from across Europe, along with their own compositions."

Loose Chickens is the folk-pop duo of Adam Smith and Em Bacon, combining their musical experience with a shared love of great songs and close harmonies.
Adam is an established solo artist who has spent much of his career performing both under his own name and with a variety of bands. Em sings with a London-based band and performs with the local Waveney SHE choir.
Together, they bring a fresh, free-range approach to a repertoire that blends folk favourites, contemporary classics, and unexpected gems. Their voices weave effortlessly together, creating rich harmonies and an infectious energy that quickly draws audiences into the flock. -

Lost in the loop

We are a London-based folk duo, Lost in the Loop. Made up of Solly Hardwick, (cello, mandolin, bouzouki) and Eliza Burkitt on violin, we blend our own compositions with traditional melodies in an exciting new musical partnership.

Bob and Paul bring experience, skill and tremendous enthusiasm to entertaining audiences. Bob plays piano accordion, sings accompanied and unaccompanied songs from around the UK and beyond, and plays a range of traditional tunes. Paul plays banjo and mandolin, has a vast array of Irish, English, American and other tunes, and sings.

Merchant's Eve

Merchant’s Eve is a folk-rooted group led by Nathan Lisgo, blending storytelling, catchy melodies, and the occasional bit of oversharing (mostly via song).
For this performance, Nathan is joined by Bec Charlton, whose harmonies add warmth and depth, alongside her own carefully chosen songs that complement the set beautifully. Also featuring lead guitarist Bob Stillwell, whose playing adds texture and energy when performing as a trio.
Rooted in folk but happy to wander, their music mixes dry humour with emotional honesty. Inspired by artists who tell the truth — even when it’s uncomfortable — Merchant’s Eve find beauty in the everyday. Expect songs with heart, warmth, and the odd lyrical curveball. -

Monique Clare

Double headline show with Sam Kelly: Wielding a cello, powerhouse vocals and arresting onstage energy, Monique Clare is a multi award-winning songwriter who’s deeply personal storytelling has elicited cathartic tears and laughter from audiences around the world. Her songwriting mirrors her classical training, immersion in the folk scene, and art-pop influences like Björk and Joanna Newsom.
In this unique double headline with Sam Kelly they will push back boundaries and explore what unites and transcends both their musical journeys.

Entison (Nathan Thomas) is an Ivor Novello nominated singer/songwriter and producer. He is currently riding the waves after a hugely successful one man show at The Fisher Theatre. A guitarist and vocalist that is influenced by contemporary folk, jazz and soul. His most recent writings document fatherhood, losing his mother, his obsession and relationship with music and the power of love and faith in his life. His debut album “The Keys” is due for release later on this year.

Oleg Fateev & Simone Sou

Oleg Fateev & Simone Sou began their musical collaboration in 2008 during an international project led by the Ethel String Quartet (New York).
Since 2010, the duo has performed their own instrumental music andsongs worldwide. Together, Oleg’s Bayan (Russian button accordion) and Simone’s Percuteria (drums & percussion) invite the listener into a poetical world of sounds, vocals and spoken word.
The duo's compositions are a colorful blend of Brazilian rhythms and Eastern European melodies with a touch of Balkan rhythms, leading to a new way of making music. Bungay may never see the likes again!

Cost: FreeRattlebox have been raising roofs and rattling windows since 2012. What started as a shared love of singing in good company has grown into a tight-knit five-piece known for big harmonies, quick instrument swaps, and a set list that keeps audiences on their toes.
They play a mix of their own songs and lively, slightly edgier covers gathered from across the folk world. One minute you’ll hear a rousing chorus about drinking toenail curling cider, the next a tale of high seas, followed by reflections on the idiocy of life. All five members sing, and their harmonies are at the heart of the Rattlebox sound.
At heart, Rattlebox are about strong songs, shared voices, and a good night out. Come ready to sing, stomp, and maybe leave with a new favourite chorus stuck in your head.

Ross Burkitt and Ali Ward hail from the Bawdsey Peninsula in Suffolk. They play a beguiling mix of original, contemporary and traditional music, featuring tight vocal harmonies and beautifully played arrangements of well chose songs. Ross is an accomplished guitarist and singer and Ali adds vocals and ethereal flute to the mix. Together they have been regular performers in East Anglia for many years.

Described by legendary folk broadcaster Mike Harding as ‘one of my favourite singers ever’ and by Cara Dillon as ‘an amazing singer with so much soul’, Sam has become one of the most accomplished and well-respected musicians on the UK folk scene.

ShuQroots

Hello, we are ShuQroots, a musical duo playing traditional folk and roots from the UK, Ireland and America. We use fiddle, banjo, penny whistle and guitar adding tasteful harmony vocals to create interesting and original arrangements.
Now both Norwich based we have brought together our extensive individual experience of the UK folk scene.
Stephanie Elizabeth spent years playing with Hastings based folk band "Waxus"
Matt Thompson established himself on the national bluegrass scene in the 1990s with "The Gully Jumpers", later going on to write and produce several albums of original music with his band "Would be Stars" (on iTunes, Spotify, etc) and touring Europe and Australasia.

Simon will be performing a set of songs written by various artists either from personal experience of drug use or witnessing the damage caused to others. Some songs are not what you would traditionally call folk songs but lyrically perhaps we should consider them as modern folk. A strong presence in the local music scene, Simon is a singer / guitarist and will be performing a mix of modern folk and Americana.

Simon will be providing technical support across the weekend in his capacity as a sound engineer in The Mayfair. He will also be singing his fabulous songs for us!
Simon is a tall, English musician and writer who has an enviable collection of admirable hats. He resides in the fair city of Norwich.
Since 2016 he has been playing gigs in and around Norwich and Norfolk, and as far afield as ButeFest in Scotland along with the likes of Big Country and Space. During 2025/26 he has been hosting showcase acoustic music nights at the Bicycle Shop in Norwich under the banner of Breadknife Music. In the last year he has played Ely Folk Festival, Bungay Folk Festival, the John Peel Centre, and supported Roswell Road amongst other things; clocking up 100 live performances in 2025.
Simon has released several albums and E.P.s of thoughtful and eclectic material which encompasses indie-folk acoustic sensibilities mixed with prog, chamber pop and rock. He usually writes and records as part of the One Month Album project.

Sonrisa first met way back when they joined Big Sky, a Norwich-based choir led by Sian Croose with whom they all still sing. Together they sing acapella harmonies from an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary songs and as individuals they are also involved with other musical projects such as ‘Harmonium’. Claire writes and performs with melodic local indie band Stromm and Marian is an experienced choir and vocal workshop leader, regularly leading sessions across Norfolk.

The Nordic Trio

Fiddler and nyckelharpa player Chris Dyer runs the London Scandi Session. She’s a regular performer and workshop leader at UK festivals and is a guest player with Boda and Falun spelmanslags in Sweden.
Multi-instrumentalist Tom Evans has been an engaging figure on the folk scene since his early days with Shooting Roots. Tom is also in demand as a recording engineer and producer.
Chintāmani's musical career started in the golden age of progressive three piece rock bands. More recently, he has played guitar, mandolin and cittern in several trad music bands.

This project began with a chance meeting at a folk session in 2018, which led to Will and Jenn’s music travelling around the world as a viral internet sensation. In their live shows they play a game of ‘musical cat and mouse’ improvising and responding to each other, weaving virtuosic performances that are unique and in the moment as only two musicians highly accomplished in their craft can produce.
Will and Jenn are supported by the amazing Detta Kenzie who may well be joined by other folk superstars on stage. Even we don’t know yet what this evening will hold for you!!
