Rumburgh Morris was formed in 2008. We are a group of dancers and musicians performing dances in the style of those traditionally danced in the Cotswolds.

We are delighted to welcome back Soniya and the opportunity to be transported to another part of the world through dance including Belly Dance, Indian Classical, Bharatnatyam and Bollywood. The focus in the morning will be on Indian Classical dance and in the afternoon at The Butter Cross with The Suffolk Saints Circle Dancers. Soniya is also running a free Indian Classical Dance workshop at The Community Centre - check out the workshop page for booking.

Join Balfolk connoisseurs Anna Pack and Jo Veal as they weave their way through the French dance playbook on clarinet and melodeon. If you are unfamiliar with this style of dance there are always plenty of people on hand to show you. We are running a free French Bal workshop during the afternoon with Tour de Dance also in Bungay Community Centre from 3.00 - 4.30pm on Saturday 5th September to help get you in the mood.
There will be a bar and refreshments at this event

The Fairgreen Ceilidh band is an experienced and well-known local band. They will get you dancing and involved. A great way to end your Festival Friday. There will be a bar at The Community Centre for this event.

Golden Star Morris is an inclusive Cotswold morris dancing group from Norwich, formed in around 1979. We really enjoy what we do and always aim to put on a great performance for our audience, whilst having a lot of fun and not taking ourselves too seriously. When we’re out and about we’re often joined by our trusty steed, Champion the Wonder Horse!

Ouse Washes Molly Dancers have been performing the traditional Molly dances of the Fens since 1984. Based in Norfolk, UK, we regularly perform at major international festivals in the UK and beyond. Our powerful dances and mysterious stories from the depths of the Fens provide our audiences with a memorable experience!

This is a chance to discover the world of French dance and Balfolk with Tour de Dance. They will guide you through the more familiar dances - some couples, some group, so that you are well prepared for the evening Bal with Anna Pack and Jo Veal.

Phil Williams has been doing English folk dancing from a young age and learned French and Breton dancing from workshops at Halsway Manor (Somerset), Gennetines (France), and local clubs in East Anglia. He plays folk music (violin) mainly from Britain, Ireland, Europe and North America.

Emma started playing flute for the Suffolk French/Breton dance club in 2021.

John Tomlinson has played guitar from a young age and been in numerous folk groups in the Ipswich area since moving there in 1986, when he met Phil. ‘Tommo’ likes quirky rhythms, so Phil asked him to play for On Y Va in 2023 when dance teacher Kerry Fletcher visited to teach 5, 8, and 11 time waltzes, and he hasn’t managed to escape!

Come and give stepdancing a go! As a fun, improvised and rhythmic dance, in stepdancing your feet become the percussion and everyone is welcome to develop their own style! 

Taking part in traditional Suffolk stepdancing since a young age, Ethan has hosted  a number of 'stepping' workshops over the years at FolkEast, Ely Folk Festival and many events across East Anglia. In this workshop we'll go through the basics of how to get started and explore your own style. We’ll even introduce you to some dancing jig dolls, so you can see how they do it! Hard-soled shoes recommended, but not essential.
